  1. Lisa Cotton New
    Co-Founder and Chief Executive
    Lisa Cotton

    Lisa co-founded The Funding Network in 2012 with the late Steve Lawrence AO. Previously, Lisa was CEO of philanthropic consultancy firm Funding Edge and, before that served as Director Social Investment at Social Ventures Australia for seven years. Earlier Lisa was Associate Director of DDB Worldwide Communications. She has also held senior government roles in business strategy and marketing with Gold Corporation and the Western Australian Tourism Commission. She is the former Chairman of Documentary Australia Foundation, a member of the Kokoda Track Foundation Leadership Council and former board member of School Aid Trust.

    Tom Hull

    Tom has 15 years international experience at marketing and creative consultancies in London, New York and Sydney, advising on communications strategy and implementing consumer engagement programs for global brands including Sony, Virgin, Pepsi, Microsoft and British Airways. Tom is currently studying Social Impact at the Australian School of Business, UNSW.

    Andrea Heffernan

    Andrea has over 15 years experience in the philanthropy and not-for-profit sector. Most recently, she was General Manager of Australian Communities Foundation for 13 years. Andrea is passionate about the social outcomes achieved by connecting donors with community needs. An energetic team player with extensive management and operations experience, Andrea is dedicated to organisational excellence. She is currently also a Board Member of Focus Individualised Support Services on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria.

    Renee Jones
    Renee has over six years of experience in Events and Project Management, having worked at major events including the Adelaide Fringe Festival and the Commonwealth Games. Renee enjoys collaborating with diverse groups and creating engaging experiences that bring people together. She is passionate about positive social change and a strong supporter of Fairtrade and sustainable products.

    Phillipa Edgar
    Pip holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Otago and a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art Valuation from Southampton Solent University. She recently completed her editing diploma with the NZ Institute of Business Studies. A member of TFN UK since 2011, Pip began volunteering with The Funding Network in Australia after relocating to Sydney in 2013. Her previous experience includes legal and compliance roles in financial services (Europe and Asia Pacific), art wealth management and private investment for independent film. With a keen interest in participatory models – and intrigued by the latent potential of collective compassion - Pip joined the Management team in 2016.

    Finance Manager
    Jerome Fink

    Jerome has a varied background in corporates, small business and NGOs. Before TFN, Jerome was the Finance Manager for the Sisters of the Good Samaritan for ten years where he supported work in education, housing, and women’s empowerment. His previous roles include working in IT start-ups and as an Economist assisting the Jawoyn Nation in Katherine to create an economic development plan. Jerome was an Australian Volunteer Abroad in the Solomon Islands early in his career and learned first hand that the best kind of change comes from building the strengths of people affected by social or economic challenges.

    Sue Stewart

    Sue is a retired owner of three small businesses in manufacturing and retail, two of which began as start up companies.  She has a keen interest in the practical workings of philanthropy and has volunteered in a variety of organisations, including Social Ventures Australia.

    Richard Hedley
    Richard is a former senior executive at Deutsche Asset Management Australia where he specialised in infrastructure private equity investment and served as director of a number of investee companies including Melbourne Airport, the Port of Geelong and Allgas Energy.  He has a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago and a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University. He has been admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is currently the Principal of Raniera Capital Advisers and advises corporate, government and social purpose clients. He is particularly passionate about the issues of inter generational inequality and social housing.
  9. Patrick Lindsay main

    Patrick Lindsay

    Patrick is one of Australia’s leading non-fiction authors.  He’s also one of the country’s most experienced TV all-rounders.  After more than 25 years on network TV with the Nine & Seven Networks presenting on programs like Today, Sunday, Wide World of Sports, Money, Today Tonight and Sportsworld. Patrick started writing full time in 2002. He has written 20 best-selling books, including The Spirit of Kokoda, The Spirit of The Digger, Fromelles,  Cosgrove, The Coast Watchers and the It’s Never Too Late series of inspirational books. He is Chairman of the Kokoda Track Foundation.

    Rob Irving

    Rob is Founding Partner of Forté Communications. He works with corporates to help lift senior management performance, communication and leadership. Rob's prior experience includes 20 years at multi-national ad agency, 
J. Walter Thompson, where he held CEO positions in Johannesburg, Cape Town, London and Sydney.  Rob is passionate about people and social enterprise. He is Chairman of SchoolAid - the national schools-based philanthropy network empowering kids to help kids in crisis.

    Vicky Dodds

    Vicky has had a 20 year career in fundraising, philanthropy and communications in museums, science, health and the higher education sector. She currently works with a range of not-for-profits providing support and advice on strategy, stakeholder engagement, fundraising, philanthropy and communications.

  12. James V
    MC & Pledging Facilitator (consultant)
    James Valentine

    James is a broadcaster, writer, MC and musician. Each afternoon from 1pm – 3pm, he presents Afternoons on 702 ABC Sydney. He writes regularly for all the major newspapers and feature magazines as well as a weekly column for the Northshore Times. He is currently the presenter of The Mix, an arts and culture television program, broadcast weekly on ABC News 24 and ABC TV.

    Pitch coach and MC (consultant)
    Linton Chalmers

    Linton is a facilitator, keynote speaker and coach. Working for Phuel Australia, he specialises in capability development programs primarily focused on high performing teams, behavioural change, and effective communication. He spent a number of years working for and with charitable organisations, focused on corporate fundraising and storytelling and currently works with clients including Qantas, Boston Consulting Group, eBay and KPMG. He holds a Masters of International Law and International relations from the University of NSW.

    James Lush

    James is a media and communication consultant with over 20 years experience in media and digital story telling for the corporate, arts and not for profit sectors. He currently enjoying early morning starts presenting the number one breakfast show in Perth on 720 ABC.
