Victoria

Providing long-term, trust-based support for women in and beyond prison, helping them rebuild safety, stability and connection.

Hope Network walks alongside women in and beyond prison across Victoria, supporting those who have experienced trauma, violence, homelessness and systemic neglect. Its model begins while women are still inside prison and continues after release, creating trusted relationships that support pathways into housing, employment, mentoring, parenting support, emotional care and community connection. Its unique value lies in offering continuity, safety and belief rather than transactional services, helping women rebuild their lives, reconnect with family and reduce the likelihood of returning to prison.

What they’re pitching for:

Hope Network is seeking support for New Leash Salon, its dog grooming social enterprise providing paid work, training and vocational pathways for women rebuilding their lives after prison. Funding will help women gain practical grooming experience, mentorship and recognised skills, while continuing to receive wraparound support from Hope Network as they navigate barriers such as trauma, criminal records, unstable housing, parole conditions and employment stigma. The project will support women to build confidence, secure future work and strengthen community reintegration, while challenging negative attitudes toward formerly incarcerated women.
