Empowers Adelaide-based Anangu community members through culturally grounded programs in arts, language, disability support, and social connection.

Iwiri Aboriginal Corporation is an Anangu-led organisation in Adelaide that empowers Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara community members to live strong, self-determined, and culturally connected lives. Through community-designed programs spanning visual arts, music, language preservation, disability inclusion, and practical social support, Iwiri provides meaningful pathways for skill building and employment.

The organisation serves as a vital cultural home away from remote Country, fostering deep belonging and personal independence for First Nations people residing in urban centers.

What they’re pitching for…

This initiative funds the acquisition and setup of a dedicated, wheelchair-accessible community vehicle to remove critical transportation barriers for Anangu Elders and members living with disabilities. Many community members residing in Adelaide for medical care face social isolation due to a lack of accessible transit options. The vehicle will enable safe, regular transportation to cultural activities, medical appointments, community gatherings, and Iwiri Choir rehearsals, restoring mobility, independence, and inclusive participation across the entire community.
