Drawing on the insights gained over our first decade of impact, we have identified key focus areas to address entrenched disadvantage. For the years 2024-2026, these areas are Thriving Young People, Equity & Inclusion, First Nations and Local Communities. Every TFN event is centred on one of these focus areas, uniting a community eager to make a difference in a specific area of need.
TFN runs flagship live crowdfunding events each year across our four impact areas. If your non-profit organisation’s work aligns with one of these areas, you may be eligible to apply to pitch at a flagship event.
TFN partners with grassroots non-profits and early-stage social enterprises that have the potential to create positive change over the long term, particularly those addressing social inequality, tackling underlying social problems, or piloting innovative solutions with scope to grow.
In general, we look for organisations that are:
Grassroots organisations that are defined as small to medium-sized with an average annual income of $1,000,000 or less over the last three years.
Based in Australia (and usually in the state where the event is hosted).
Primarily grassroots PBIs and registered charities, although we may consider other structures (such as social enterprises, Aboriginal corporations, community associations) where the program clearly provides benevolent relief to identifiably disadvantaged community members.
Applications open in the months ahead of each event. When applications open, we publish the event theme, key dates, and eligibility criteria. Applications typically close around 14 weeks prior to the event date.
