Regional QLD

FMAES delivers culturally responsive tutoring, digital inclusion, youth mentoring and essential support to help disadvantaged young people and families learn, stabilise and thrive.

Fossung Multicultural and Education Services (FMAES) is a Queensland DGR1 charity that improves educational equity, wellbeing and community belonging for children, young people and families from culturally and linguistically diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds across Ipswich, Logan and surrounding communities. FMAES provides tutoring and academic support, structured mathematics intervention, digital literacy training, youth mentoring and study and career coaching, alongside essential-goods relief such as food, clothing and household items. By combining learning support, practical crisis assistance and culturally informed wellbeing outreach, FMAES helps young people overcome barriers like poverty and social isolation so they can stay engaged in education and build more stable futures.

What they’re pitching for:

FMAES is pitching to expand its Education, Digital Inclusion and Essential Support Program for disadvantaged young people across Ipswich, Logan and surrounding communities who are facing disrupted learning, limited access to technology and study resources, and family financial hardship. The funding will support a package of practical, integrated assistance that includes access to devices and connectivity, digital literacy support, and regular tutoring and mentoring in core subjects and study skills. It will also provide essential relief such as food and school-related supplies so students can focus on learning, delivered through safe outreach hubs that help young people rebuild confidence, stay engaged at school and strengthen pathways toward further education, training and employment.
