‘It’s Just Not Sexy’ – Panel Discussion

The event

Join us for an honest, funny, and thought-provoking panel discussion exploring who and what gets funded, what gets overlooked, and why some of our most challenging social issues struggle to attract the support they deserve.

As part of TFN’s commitment to Equity & Inclusion – our core impact stream focused on dismantling systemic barriers and amplifying marginalised community voices – this event recreates a standout session from the recent Global Impact Summit. The conversation addresses the unique, often uncomfortable funding hurdles faced by grassroots organisations tackling critical but stigmatised areas like sex, menstruation, consent, and sexual violence.

The panel brings together three remarkable sector leaders – Geena Dunne (The Cova Project), Angelique Wan (Consent Labs) and Eloise Hall (TABOO) – who have each repeatedly knocked on funding doors and experienced what it means to be turned away. Together, they will unpack the reality of these funding cycles, examine what a lack of investment costs our communities, and look closely at who benefits when difficult conversations remain hidden in the “too-hard” basket.

Generously hosted at The Landing in North Sydney by our event partner Two Good Co, a breakfast will be provided during the morning’s networking segments.

Space is strictly limited.
